Meet the teachers.....
Peter originally studied drums in Western Australia and has been an integral part of the team at the Academy of Music since it opened 25+ years ago. A talented teacher and performer who cleverly adapts to playing all music genres and enjoys sharing his many skills with students of all ages. Peter's versatility makes him a much sort after drummer for a variety of local & interstate bands.
Dianne studied Classical Piano and Music Theory with the Australian Music Examinations Board (A.M.E.B) and had been teaching piano privately to students of various ages for a number of years prior to joining the team at the Academy. Growing up in a musical family strengthened Di's love of music and she enjoys sharing her talents with the students.
Brock has a wealth of experience teaching music, actively playing in bands and is competent in guitar, piano, vocals, music theory and drums. He is passionate about using his formal A.M.E.B (Australian Music Examinations Board), Tafe qualifications and vast industry experience to develop the skills of students of all ages and musical interests. He has also written a variety of music for various well known artists and recently the first single from his latest album.
Damon is an accomplished guitarist who studied classical guitar at University of Auckland, NZ , Flamenco guitar at the Conservatorium of Music Newcastle, NSW (minoring in flute & music education) and a Diploma of Contemporary Music at JMC Academy Sydney. Damon has also been a guitarist & singer in working covers and original rock bands and has travelled extensively to become a sought after teacher and performer in all music genres.
Natasha has studied Piano & Music theory with the Australian Music Examinations Board (A.M.E.B) and has added Violin to her musical skills. She joins the Academy of Music with experience as an accompanist and ensemble performer and looks forward to working with our young piano and keyboard beginners.
Josephine studied a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Music and Italian at the University of New England. She loves teaching singers of all ages and taught the Academy of Music program for preschoolers in 2014. Josephine has a special interest in jazz singing and performance having sung solo and in bands in the Hastings.
Kelly has studied AMEB Piano and music theory whilst also a student of singing teacher, Rose Wilson at St. Columba College Port Macquarie. She has performed in numerous musical productions and with the SCAS Choir at Carnegie Hall, New York. She is currently undertaking a teaching degree at Charles Sturt University and sharing her knowledge and experience working with our young singers at the Academy.
