Meet the teachers.....

Peter Harries

Peter originally studied drums in Western Australia and has been an integral part of the team at the Academy of Music since it opened 25+ years ago. A talented teacher and performer who cleverly adapts to playing all music genres and enjoys sharing his many skills with students of all ages. Peter's versatility makes him a much sort after drummer for a variety of local & interstate bands.


Dianne Myers

Dianne studied Classical Piano and Music Theory with the Australian Music Examinations Board (A.M.E.B) and had been teaching piano privately to students of various ages for a number of years prior to joining the team at the Academy. Growing up in a musical family strengthened Di's love of music and she enjoys sharing her talents with the students.

Brock Colley

Brock has a wealth of experience teaching music, actively playing in bands and is competent in guitar, piano, vocals, music theory and drums. He is passionate about using his formal A.M.E.B (Australian Music Examinations Board), Tafe qualifications  and vast industry experience to develop the skills of  students of all ages and musical interests. He has also written a variety of music for various well known artists and recently the first single from his latest  album.

Minh Tran

Minh is a very talented and successful pianist who has completed ANZCA (Australian & New Zealand Cultural Arts Ltd) examinations in modern pianoforte and music theory. He is delighted to share his love of music and considerable skills with the Academy's young students. When Minh isn't at the piano his other passion is playing and watching soccer!

Tim Cramer

Tim has recently returned to Port Macquarie from Sydney where in addition to running his own video production business for 20 years & composing for television he taught guitar for 'Guitar for All'. He has been playing guitar/bass all his life in various bands. Tim joins the Academy of Music team to share his guitar playing skills and musical knowledge.

Kelly Maggs

Kelly has studied AMEB Piano and music theory whilst also a student of singing teacher, Rose Wilson at St. Columba College Port Macquarie. She has performed in numerous musical productions and with the SCAS Choir at Carnegie Hall, New York. She is currently undertaking a teaching degree at Charles Sturt University and sharing her knowledge and experience working with our young singers at the Academy.

Natasha Marshall

Natasha has studied Piano & Music theory with the Australian Music Examinations Board (A.M.E.B) and has added Violin to her musical skills. She joins the Academy of Music with experience as an accompanist and ensemble performer and looks forward to working with our young piano and keyboard beginners.


Josephine Galante

 Josephine studied a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Music and Italian at the University of New England. She loves teaching singers of all ages and taught the Academy of Music program for preschoolers in 2014. Josephine has a special interest in jazz  singing and performance having sung solo and in bands in the Hastings.

Evie Martin

Evie recently completed her piano/keyboard studies through ANZCA (Australian & New Zealand Cultural Arts Ltd) here at the Academy of Music and is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and talents with the students. She has a keen interest in Musical Theatre and continues to perform regularly in local productions.

Daniel Hopkins

Daniel  performs regularly on the NSW north coast with his blues band, 'The Generous Few' and is also a prolific song writer having released his first album in Dec. 2021. He completed Certificate III in Technical Production and Performance at Ultimo Tafe and looks forward to sharing his knowledge and talents with Academy students.
